It is indeed exciting that our parishes can reach out to many on the world wide web and broaden the vision of the Church to all.
St. John the Baptist is located in the Diocese of Greensburg, PA. The area of Perryopolis and Smock, which our parish serves, has Slavic, Italian, and other ethnic backgrounds and coal mining roots, dating back to the early 20th century. The Catholic people, who were noted for their hard work, from the Perryopolis area and Smock area have had their spiritual, faith formation, sacramental, and social needs served since 1909 when the former St. Hedwig was established until its closure in 2013, and since 1904 when the present Parish of St. John the Baptist was established, and those spiritual, faith formation, sacramental and social needs are still being served to the Catholic people of Northwestern Fayette County by the Church of St. John the Baptist.
