"Do not be afraid. As we come out of the darkness of Lent and come out of the darkness of a global pandemic, be ready to go back into the world to take care of our brothers and sisters who are most in need, the people who are the face of Christ. Be ready to go back into the world to proclaim our Savior, to proclaim that he is risen and truly alive and wants all of us to be with him for eternity," Bishop Edward C. Malesic

Due to the current conditions with the Covid-19 Pandemic; please read the announcement from Father Efren below regarding changes:

Dear Beloved Parishioners of Saint John the Baptist:

I pray that this finds you well.   We are approaching the end of the Easter Season as we prepare to celebrate Pentecost (the Church's Birthday), The Most Holy Trinity and Corpus Christi.  We prepare to answer the call of Christ to go forth and spread the Good News and to evangelize the need for relationship with Father, Son and Spirit.  What a great time for us to move into Wave 2 of the Diocese of Greensburg's reopening plan.

Beginning Monday, June 1; there will be changes occurring.   Most importantly, we will once again be celebrating the Sacred Liturgy as a congregation, with some limitations and guidelines.

Mass Times have been adjusted and I ask that you please make note of them.   Bishop Malesic has continued his special dispensation on Sunday Mass obligation.

+ Daily Mass on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday will be celebrated at 9am -- Wednesday will be Live on Facebook

+ Saturday Vigil Mass will be celebrated at 5pm

+ Sunday Mass will be celebrated at 8am and 11am  -- The 11am Mass will be Live Streamed on Facebook and Instagram

+ The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered on Saturdays at 4pm or by appointment.

Guidelines that you will be asked to follow include but are not limited to:

+ A face mask, covering mouth and nose, must be worn.

+ Social distancing of 6 feet from non-household members will be maintained. -- The Church will be at 25% occupancy.   Ushers will seat you in areas marked at the appropriate distance.   I ask for your patience as we seat you – it may not be your normal place.

+ The Sign of Peace will be given verbally and with a reverent bow to your neighbors, no hand shaking.

+ We encourage you to please receive the Eucharist by hand, not by mouth.

I want to take a moment to say THANK YOU to each of you who have helped to make operating the Parish possible during this time through your financial support.   While we know that many are facing financial uncertainty and your generosity is a blessing to your Parish.

We will continue to be using our virtual world to stay in touch.  Below are the many ways that you can find out news, watch recordings of Masses, devotionals, reflections and more, and just stay in touch.

We will be checking in personally with our Parish Family members.  Do not be surprised to receive a call or email or text from a member of staff, one of our councils, a catechist….if have not yet received one.

Please be assured of my prayers and the prayers of Parish leadership for you and your loved ones.  I remind you to call if you need anything we may be able to assist with and most importantly to be a good neighbor to those in need.
