Requirements for Catechists: Catechetical Training and Clearances.
Catechists are required to complete Catechetical Training. Courses are to be completed within a two year period. Continuing education is also encouraged throughout the time in this ministry.
Basic Certification : courses are being offered this Summer at Christ our Shepherd Center.
Standard Certification: can be completed by attending Pathways
Advanced Certification: can be completed by enrolling in Enlighten!
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Training is offered at various times for those interested in becoming a catechist or aid in the atrium.
The Child Protection Services Law (CPSL) in the State of Pennsylvania requires all volunteers with “The care, supervision, guidance or control of children and (instead of “or”) routine interaction with children” to obtain clearances. In accordance with this law and the requirements of the Diocese of Greensburg, all volunteers in our Faith Formation programs must have the following clearances and training:
